    broken image

The pack card view is where you manage all your data. The view is divided in several parts from top to bottom:

    1. The Pack Cards/Designer Switch that allows you to switch to the Pack designer. The switch is only visible if you have the permission to edit the layout.
    2. The Card Navigator allows navigating from card to card, search within the content, display the cards list and other advanced options
    3. The Card Data Form where you input your data
    4. The Pack Relation(s) if any defined.
    5. The Add Card Button
  • Add Card Button

The packs have always at least one card. You can add as many cards as you want in a pack. Clicking on the "Add Card Button" will create a new empty card at the end of the pack. All fields with default values defined will be filled in automatically. Once created, the new card will immediately be displayed.

It is also possible to add a new card by selecting "Add a Card" or "Duplicate the Card" in the Card navigator menu. The menu "Add a Card" acts exactly as the button. The menu "Duplicate a Card" copies all values of the card to the new one.

The card navigation bar gives all the tools to move within the cards (records) of the pack (database). 5. Shows the current pack size. If the pack content is filtered with some terms in the search field, this index shows the number of found cards and the total of cards.
    6. Navigate to the next card of the pack.
    7. Navigate to the last card of the pack.
    8. Entering any term in the search field will filter the pack content containing the search term, except in the attachment files and the related cards in the pack relations. Pressing the cross button at the right of the field will clear the entered terms.

  • Card Data Form

The card data (record) is available in the card panel. The card layout depends on the design you or the pack owner have defined in the Pack Designer. There is multiple type of data you can enter on a card like input fields, files, images, ratings, to name a few. Below is an example of empty card ready to be filled with new data.

When the user enters the data, it is automatically and immediately saved on the server.

  • Card Public URL Address

The owner of the pack can make any card data available publicly through a unique URL address. To generate a new unique URL, select the Card Public URL Address in the card menu. This will open the public URL management dialog.

The public address is available in two forms:

    • The standard URL shows a single page with with the card content as a autonomous web page. The layout is preserved.
    • By adding the query parameter ?format=json at the end of the public URL, you can access the card values in JSON format. This is ideal for integrating with other applications.

  • Pack Relations

Pack relations allows you to link one card to one or more other cards from another pack or the pack itself. Relations are always bi-directional: it means that you can set and see relations in both packs. For example, imagine you have a pack of customers and a pack of orders.

When creating a new order card, you can link the order to the related customer. Now in the customer pack, you will see automatically all orders including the new one under the customer card. Packs can have any number of pack relations and each pack relation can contain any number of card relations

A Pack Relation has always a name defined in the the Pack Designer and the target pack name is always displayed after the arrow.

Pack Relations have two main buttons:

    1. The Define Relations button opens the relation selection dialog box in which you can choose the related cards of the target pack
    2. The Go To Card button displayed for each row opens the target card in another browser tab or window.
