The Card View
How to manage your data
The pack card view is where you manage all your data. The view is divided in several parts from top to bottom:
Add Card Button
The packs have always at least one card. You can add as many cards as you want in a pack. Clicking on the "Add Card Button" will create a new empty card at the end of the pack. All fields with default values defined will be filled in automatically. Once created, the new card will immediately be displayed.
It is also possible to add a new card by selecting "Add a Card" or "Duplicate the Card" in the Card navigator menu. The menu "Add a Card" acts exactly as the button. The menu "Duplicate a Card" copies all values of the card to the new one.
Card Navigator
The card navigation bar gives all the tools to move within the cards (records) of the pack (database). The navigation bar remains sticky to the top of your browser window if you scroll down, so it is easy for you to change from card to card and keeping the current view of the pack layout.
The navigation bar offers following tools :
Pack Menu
The pack menu gives access to the following useful features:
Card Data Form
The card data (record) is available in the card panel. The card layout depends on the design you or the pack owner have defined in the Pack Designer. There is multiple type of data you can enter on a card like input fields, files, images, ratings, to name a few. Below is an example of empty card ready to be filled with new data.
When the user enters the data, it is automatically and immediately saved on the server.
Card Public URL Address
The owner of the pack can make any card data available publicly through a unique URL address. To generate a new unique URL, select the Card Public URL Address in the card menu. This will open the public URL management dialog.
The public address is available in two forms:
Generate a new URL
Click on the button Generate New Public URL to start the process
Confirm the new URL
When generating a new public URL, you need to confirm the generation. If the card already had a public URL address, you will be warned that this previous address will be replaced by a new one and will be discarded.
Clear the public URL
You can clear the public URL by clicking on the Clear Public URL. You will have to confirm the removal.
Accessing the public URL
Any card with a public URL will be marked with a Link icon in the upper right corner. Clicking on the icon will open a small input where you can copy the public URL. Clicking on the icon again will close the input box.
Pack Relations
Pack relations allows you to link one card to one or more other cards from another pack or the pack itself. Relations are always bi-directional: it means that you can set and see relations in both packs. For example, imagine you have a pack of customers and a pack of orders.
When creating a new order card, you can link the order to the related customer. Now in the customer pack, you will see automatically all orders including the new one under the customer card. Packs can have any number of pack relations and each pack relation can contain any number of card relations
A Pack Relation has always a name defined in the the Pack Designer and the target pack name is always displayed after the arrow.
Pack Relations have two main buttons:
The Pack Relation card selection dialog box allows you to select the cards for the current card. The dialog box shows the list of all cards of the target pack in a paginated list.
Pack Cards List
The pack card list displays all the cards of pack in a paginated data table in which you can consult all the cards in a compact way. The card list comes with a number of features listed here:
Users on the same card
Know who is working on the same record and see changes in real-time
You can always see who is looking or working on the current card. All your changes and others changes will be automatically updated for each user as the card is saved. Ths also works for the pack title and description.
